Beyond the Rainbow: Creating Truly LGBTQ+ Wedding Experiences

🗓️ Tuesday, June 30

Networking: 6:00-6:30

Interactive Workshop: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

📍 Fig Hollow Barn | Palmyra, NY

This interactive workshop is designed specifically for professionals in the wedding industry who want to move beyond performative allyship and create genuinely inclusive experiences for LGBTQ+ couples and their families.

Whether you’re a planner, photographer, videographer, florist, venue owner, DJ, officiant, baker, HMUA, or any vendor working with couples, this workshop is for you.

💡 WHY ATTEND?

Today’s couples are looking deeper than a rainbow logo during Pride Month. LGBTQ+ couples want to know: Are you truly safe? Inclusive? Educated? Intentional?

This workshop helps you answer those questions through your ACTIONS, not just your marketing.

The wedding industry has historically excluded, misrepresented, or overlooked LGBTQ+ people. Many couples still experience discomfort, assumptions, misgendering, or tokenization while planning one of the most meaningful days of their lives.

Being an ally isn’t about saying “everyone is welcome here.”

It’s about being willing to learn, grow, listen, and intentionally create spaces where couples feel seen, respected, celebrated, and safe.

In this workshop, we’ll discuss:

✨ How to create truly affirming client experiences

✨ Inclusive language and communication practices

✨ Common mistakes vendors make without realizing it

✨ How to build trust with LGBTQ+ couples authentically

✨ Ways to make your business stand out as genuinely inclusive

✨How inclusivity benefits not only your clients, but your business and community as a whole

This is not about “getting it perfect.”

It’s about committing to the work and showing couples that their love, identities, and authenticity matter.

This advanced training equips participants with the skills, insight, and tools needed to build and sustain impactful SafeZone programs in schools, college campuses, workplaces, and everyday community spaces.

This certification goes beyond participation, you’ll step behind the curtain to learn exactly how our SafeZone program is facilitated. Through guided walkthroughs, practical demonstrations, and candid discussion, participants will explore how to effectively present activities, anticipate audience responses, support individuals at varying comfort levels, and gracefully navigate the inevitable challenges that arise during live trainings.

Throughout the workshop, participants will have ample opportunity for open Q&A in a supportive, judgment-free environment, learning directly from our team’s real-world experiences, lessons learned, and best practices so you can feel fully prepared and confident leading your own LGBTQ+ inclusion trainings.

Each participant will receive a 50+ page SafeZone Train-the-Trainer manual rooted in an intersectional framework, including:
